Pre Teen Company & Teen Company
The purpose of both companies is to provide an opportunity for all of the performance minded students to create, express and experience their dancing in a pre professional environment. Performance is an essential learning experience for all serious dancers and brings joy and creativity. Students accepted into the performance company must take additional technical classes in order to maintain the technique required for all the choreography taught in the workshops. A minimum of 2 classes per week in Jazz, Ballet or Contemporary are required for participation in the company. Students are expected to attend all classes and practice on their own time. Company students will perform their collection of dances at a special performance in May 2012 and at various community events on and off coast.
Hip Hop, Tap & Musical Theatre
Students involved in Competitive Hip Hop or Tap classes are by default members of the Performance Company for those styles. This will allow them the opportunity to perform their pieces in a non competitive environment and enjoy the experience of simply performing. If Comp Hip Hop & Tap students wish to join in the other performance styles they must take the workshop program also.
Adult Company
The Adult Company is a little less involved than the Youth Companies. Adult wishing to perform in the workshops must be involved in a minimum of 2 classes per week in either Ballet, Contemporary or Jazz. Any Adult Company members in regular Adult classes will have an opportunity to perform the choreography from those classes in the company. The purpose of the company is to offer Adults an opportunity to develop their dance training and a means to create and perform for their own creative needs and desires. All students are welcome to audition!!
Auditions will consist of instructor led short classes for all participants that will help the panel determine the differing levels of ability and assist in placement. Students wishing to can perform their own short choreography, but it is not mandatory.

Pricing
Prices are based on 6 people per group. Less members may result in higher fees per student. Fees payments can be divided up over the year. Dance Works has made every effort to keep the cost of participation in the company minimal. Prices have been calculated in order to cover the costs of the workshops. Penny Hudson is donating her time to the company so students are only responsible to pay for the cost of the studio rental. l All these costs are included in the prices listed below.
Costumes will be put together by students with the assistants of Dance Works. Any costumes that students wish to purchase will be purchased with funds raised by student fundraisers.
